Description
This kit was designed as part of our new PAS-NGTC/NGC preamp kits which have the blend and mono controls.
It can however be used as a ‘stand alone’ center/mono channel preamp, for those who wish to add this mod to their PAS preamp.
It uses a single 12DW7 tube, which is a unique tube in that one section/Triode is of 12AX7 specs and the other is of a 12AU7 spec, and this is a perfect fit for this circuit! Note, the 12DW7 tube is NOT included with this kit!
This mono preamp has been designed to be used with our regulated power supply kits. A standard Dynaco power supply using the PA211 power transformer will not work to power this additional tube.
The PCB has been designed to fit in existing holes around where the old can style multi capacitor was installed. The holes will match the holes around that area.
This mono preamp gets it inputs from the line preamp outputs, usually our TCLA tone control preamp or our Aikido classic line preamp and should be installed with its own 100K single gang volume control at the input, so that the center channel speaker can be independently controlled as well as being controlled by the main PAS volume control.

This is a preamp, not a power amp, so the center speaker must either be powered by its own built in amp or the power amp must have a center speaker output!
